The annual ASEA conference is the flagship conference for the African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA) and it provides a platform for African exchanges, policy makers, global investors, issuers and intermediaries to connect and develop their knowledge, build valuable networks, explore emerging trends as they relate to the capital market, and map out actionable initiatives that will drive the sustainable development of African financial markets.

The year’s theme, Building Resilient African Capital Markets, seeks to revive strategies to solidify the robustness of African capital markets and position African Exchanges as a gateway to the development of the continent.Africa has over the years been seen to be lagging behind on issues of development. Although African stock exchanges have developed at a much faster pace in the current decade than ever before, most stock exchanges are still experiencing low levels of liquidity propelling stock exchanges to find innovative ways of attracting issuers and investors, as well seek ways in which they can diversify their product base and exert their position as drivers of economic diversification and growth. Moreover, this theme suggestion will allow stock exchanges to delve deep into what can be done by stock exchanges to build and transform themselves. Particularly an interplay of initiatives that are pertinent in the current economic landscape.

The location of this year’s ASEA Conference will be the tourist town of Kasane which is situated in the far north-eastern corner of Botswana close to Africa's 'Four Corners', where four countries almost meet: Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The gateway to Chobe National Park, Kasane is an important point of debarkation for the nearby Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, Livingstone in Zambia, and Namibia’s Caprivi Strip. Spread out along the banks of the Chobe River, Kasane presents an array of hotels, guest houses and campsites that accommodate all the visitors to the national park. Some are splendidly situated, with wonderful views of the river and its wildlife.

The venue of this Conference will be Cresta Mowana Safari Resort & Spa, which is situated along the banks of the mighty Chobe River. In these tranquil surroundings you will come to experience true African comfort: superb, spacious accommodation, delectable cuisine and personalized, one-on-one service.
