Hosted by GFC Media Group and officially supported by South Africa’s National Treasury, the prestigious Bonds, Loans & Sukuk Africa event, designed to bring together key borrowers, issuers and investors, returns for the 6th edition on the 5th & 6th of April 2017, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

    Following on from a volatile 2016 which included Brexit, Trump and significant movement in currencies across the continent, the Bonds, Loans & Sukuk Africa 2017 agenda will tackle how to overcome these headwinds, whilst looking ahead to 2017 and the reasons to be optimistic.

    The conference is the only Pan-African debt event attracting delegates from 18 African countries (as well as Europe, Asia and America), bringing together local and international banks, borrowers, issuers, investors and financial service providers from across Africa.

    In 2017 over 70 speakers are scheduled to provide insights and expert opinions on the current state of the industry and the key opportunities available. These include influential figures such as:

    • Abraham Nwankwo, Director General, Debt Management Office, Republic of Nigeria;
    • Mbako Mbo, Chief Finance Officer, Botswana Development Corporation;
    • Stephen Migwi Magu, Managing Director, Kenya Solar Energy;
    • Ted Manvitz, Group Chief Financial Officer, IHS Towers;
    • Tewolde Gebremariam, Chief Executive Officer, Ethiopian Airlines

    With over 400 attendees expected this year there is clearly tremendous scope for making advantageous contacts. Speaking of the 2016 edition, Jonathan Segal of MUFG said, “Bonds & Loans Africa has in my view established itself as the premier fixed income conference in Africa, with increasingly good attendance from non-South African issuers, commercial/investment banks, DFIs and investors.”
