The market capitalization growth recorded during the first six months of the year is mainly due to the listing of a public bank and a start-up, but the stock exchange created in 1997 still contributes only marginally to financing the Algerian economy.
bp announced that it has agreed to sell its upstream business in Algeria to Eni, including its interests in the gas-producing In Amenas and In Salah concessions.
Previously planned for January but later postponed, for technical reasons, the listing of Algerian pharmaceutical firm Biopharm has been rescheduled. In a statement published on February 22, Biopharm said subscriptions to its IPO would take place from March 13 to March 23, 2016.
The listing of the public mobile operator Mobilis, a subsidiary of Algeria Telecom (AT), on the Algiers Stock Exchange is "always on the agenda," CEO of AT Azouaou Mehmel said Friday.
