Egypt has achieved a record number in tourist arrivals in 2024, receiving 15.7 million tourists, despite the region’s geopolitical conditions, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy highlighted.

Fathy stressed the need to develop new hotel rooms across various tourist destinations amid this huge influx.

The minister also unveiled plans to establish a bank aimed at encouraging tourism investment by seizing all available opportunities inside and outside Egypt.

The government is currently taking the necessary measures to complete the required license approvals, limit fees, and create an attractive environment for local and foreign investments, according to the minister.

In cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), the state recently implemented an initiative valued at EGP 50 billion to support the tourism sector.
