Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Thursday closed on the negative route following losses recorded by blue chip firms.
The local bourse recorded 28 losers against 19 gainers to begin trading on the negative route.
Consequently, the All-Share Index depreciated by 0.50 per cent to close at 34,643.65 index points as against 34.818.01 recorded the previous trading session while market capitalization of equities dipped to N18.102trillion as market sentiment thread in the negative territory.
A total volume of 364.9 million units of shares, valued at N3.50billion exchanged hands in 6,340 deals. TRANSCORP (0.00%) finished the most traded shares by volume at 53.9million units, while FBNH topped by value at N292.3million. BOCGAS (+9.90%) led the gainer’s chart today, while PRESCO (-9.97%) was the top loser.

NSE Insurance Index: Up by +1.52%, on price appreciation in CORNERSTONE (+9.43%) and MANSARD (+8.37%)
NSE Consumer Goods Index: Advanced by 0.44%, on buy interest in NB (+4.31%), HONYFLOUR (+3.45%), INTBREW (+0.71%) and GUINNESS (+0.25%).
NSE Industrial Index: Improved by +0.33%, on PORTPAINT (+8.78%) and WAPCO (+4.15%) upturn.
NSE Banking Index: Down by +2.53%, due to the profit taking in FIDELITYBK (-7.02%), UBN (-3.39%), GUARANTY (-3.24%) and UBA (-2.87%).
NSE Oil & Gas Index: Closed Flat.
