Trading activity on the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) on Monday, September 8, 2025, saw a sharp decline in both traded volume and turnover.
A total of 4,414,795 shares were exchanged across the market, corresponding to a market value of approximately GH¢15.79 million.
This represents a 50% drop in volume and a 51% decline in turnover compared to the previous trading session on Friday, September 5, 2025.
Despite the drop in activity, the market capitalization remained stable at GH¢147.7 billion.
Out of the 15 listed equities that participated in the trading session recorded, there were no price gainers or losers, indicating a flat day for the stock market.
How the Ghana Stock Exchange performed on September 4
MTN Ghana dominated trading by far accounting for the bulk of the volume with 4.22 million shares traded.
It was followed by Ecobank Transnational with 128,393 shares, SIC Insurance Company with 33,482 shares, and Republic Bank Ghana, which saw 14,321 shares change hands.
On the performance front, the GSE Composite Index (GSE-CI) remained unchanged at 7,172.44 points, reflecting a weekly loss of 2.15.
Similarly, the GSE Financial Stocks Index (GSE-FSI) held steady at 3,444.30 points, maintaining its momentum with a 1-week gain of 0.95%, a four week gain of 0.87%, and a year-to-date increase of 44.67%.
