Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE) is pleased to inform its valued stakeholders that on 24th May 2023 in Tokyo, Japan, the Board of Directors of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) approved the BSE’s application to become a Full Member of WFE. The BSE was an Affiliate of WFE since June 2016.
The country’s largest diversified financial services group, Botswana Insurance Holdings Limited (BIHL), has finalised the sale of its 37.6 percent stake in Funeral Services Group (FSG) to a unit of private equity firm, Africa Lighthouse Capital.
The country’s commercial banks recorded collective after-tax profits of P1.67 billion in the first eight months of the year, an increase of more than P440 million from the corresponding period in 2021.
The Botswana Stock Exchange (BSE) has enjoyed a higher level of both the volume and value of shares traded since begining of the year, approaching levels last seen before the pandemic.
