    TOTAL sale of shares and corporate bonds has significantly increased last year. According to the Capital Market and Securities Authorities (CMSA), the sale of shares went up by 68.5 per cent, hence reaching 225.2bn/- by December last year compared to 133.7bn/- recorded by December 2022.

    The total market capitalization of all companies increased by 0.18%, reaching TZS 14,518.45 billion. Similarly, the value of domestic companies experienced a slight uptick of 0.46%, settling at TZS 11,405.21 billion. This indicates a collective rise in the worth of companies based within the country. The All-share Index (DSEI) and Tanzania Share Index (TSI) both saw increases, reaching 1,741.08 points and 4,310.83 points, respectively, showcasing the overall good performance of listed companies. This positive trend is credited to the combined efforts of companies listed locally and cross-listed, contributing to the economic upswing in the market.
