A list of seven stockbrokers and three banks to play a central role in broadening capital markets to higher risk assets has been unveiled.

Kenya and Rwanda have connected their stock markets electronically to boost investments between the two countries and as a gesture of commitment to the regional integration of the capital markets.

Capital Markets Authority Kenya (CMA) and Capital Markets Commission of Angola have signed on February 24, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that promotes and facilitates information sharing and technical assistance among the two regulators. The purpose of the partnership is primarily to support supervisory and regulatory coordination between Kenya and Angola, with an ultimate goal of ensuring that markets are fair, efficient and transparent.

Investors will soon be able to shield themselves against forex market volatility following an announcement by Nairobi Securities Exchange that it will launch currency futures this year.
