A recent economic Insight: Africa Q3 2016, ranked Rwanda as the best country in SSA in terms of getting credit, followed by Zambia, Kenya.
Rwanda’s inflation rate eased to 5.8 per cent in September, down from 6.8 per cent registered in August, the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda (NISR) monthly consumer price index indicates. The drop is, however, higher than 3.7 per cent registered during the same period 2015, according to the report released yesterday.
Rwanda's central bank left its key repo rate at 6.5 percent, saying this was "in order to support the continued financing of the economy while mitigating inflationary and exchange rate pressures."
Fitch Ratings has affirmed Rwanda's Long-Term Foreign and Local Currency Issuer Default Ratings (IDR) at 'B+' with Stable Outlooks. The issue ratings on Rwanda's senior unsecured foreign-currency bonds have also been affirmed at 'B+'. The Country Ceiling has been affirmed at 'B+' and the Short-Term Foreign Currency IDR at 'B'.
